Lake Izabal is the largest lake in Guatemala, it is 50 feet deep and more than 28 miles long. The lake is known for its silk felt water, the temperature of which is as perfect as if it were a special clothing. It is home to manatees and is enriched with fish. Lake Izabal flows into the Rio Dulce at the eastern end of the lake, and river tours often start here.
