The architecture of Maktub Lodge Atacama is deeply inspired by traditional Atacameño design, characterized by the use of adobe—a natural building material made from earth and organic materials. This choice not only pays homage to the indigenous construction techniques but also provides natural insulation, keeping interiors cool during the day and warm at night. The flat roofs and rounded corners, typical of desert architecture, seamlessly integrate the lodge into the surrounding landscape, creating a serene oasis for visitors.
