BusinessLet's Unveil

A few days ago, we had the privilege of launching this movement in Mérida alongside our partners from Nativo Digital, together with an incredible group of local hoteliers. It wasn’t a massive event, but rather an intimate conversation—the kind where industry truths and day-to-day challenges are shared, and above all, where the foundations of the upcoming hospitality revolution are laid.

In that space, surrounded by colleagues who operate with tech allies like Cloudbeds, we reached a unanimous conclusion. There is an inevitable point of convergence defining the success of modern accommodations: the union between "independent design tourism" and the "absolute relevance of the direct channel."

Today, we want to share why we at CAOBA are leading this shift and exactly what you need to know to avoid being left behind.

The Paradox of Modern Tourism: Unique Stays, Obsolete Distribution

Today’s traveler is no longer just looking for a bed to sleep in; they are seeking a narrative, an aesthetic, and an authentic connection with the destination. "Independent design tourism" is booming precisely because it offers just that: properties with a soul, personality, and their own distinct identity.

However, the major challenge for these boutique hotels and unique stays has always been the same: dependence on major OTAs.

Giving up control of the experience (and a huge chunk of the margins) to third-party platforms dilutes the value of being independent. That is why the current ecosystem demands a paradigm shift toward the direct channel, reclaiming contact with the guest from the very first click. This is where we come in.

What You Need to Know: How CAOBA is Changing the Rules

At CAOBA Hotels, we aren't satisfied with just being spectators of this evolution. Our vision goes far beyond traditional management: we are becoming the first global company to merge strategic hospitality consulting with sub-direct bookings for unique stays.

What does this mean for the industry? It means we don't just help hotels optimize their operations and enhance their design; we create our own distribution ecosystem. We build a direct bridge between travelers seeking spaces with identity and the hotels that create them—reducing friction, eliminating unnecessary intermediaries, and maximizing the value of every booking.

We are shifting the board on a global scale, proving that independent hospitality can be highly technological, incredibly profitable, and, at the same time, deeply human and design centered.

Next Stop: Mexico City

What we experienced in Mérida was just the first spark of this movement. The conversation is just beginning, and the transformation is not going to stop.
