Vernacular
Monte Oscuro’s architecture blends Zenú and Caribbean traditions with sustainable design. Built without unnecessary excavation or deforestation, each structure follows the natural contours of the land, using organic materials and artisan craftsmanship. The design respects the mountain—it adapts, rather than imposes.
The retreat features six private cabins, a spa, a Balinese-style infinity pool, a restaurant, a bar, and communal spaces that balance group connection with personal retreat. Perched along the mountainside, the pool merges seamlessly with the landscape, offering serene views of the jungle and sky.
What's Included?
Every detail in the cabins at Monte Oscuro is designed to help guests reconnect with what matters most. Natural fibers, earthy tones, and noble materials create a calming, minimalist atmosphere. Instead of screens, guests are surrounded by the sounds of the river and the jungle.
Open-air showers, hot water jacuzzis, mosquito-netted beds, minibars, and artisanal coffee stations offer comfort while staying close to nature. Some cabins have open designs, allowing guests to sleep under the stars. For those who prefer more traditional lodging, there is a fully enclosed, climate-controlled cabin.
Dining at Monte Oscuro is part of the experience. The restaurant serves fresh, organic dishes made with local ingredients, while the lobby’s industrial kitchen is available for group culinary activities. A bar in the pool area offers natural drinks and cocktails—perfect for sunset views over the rainforest
